NYC FOR ABORTION RIGHTS
ORGANIZER
I started organizing with NYC for Abortion Rights in 2018 after seeing the Bleeker St. Planned Parenthood regularly overwhelmed by people pretending to be clinic escorts. Instead of helping patients access care, these fake "escorts" try to deter patients from accessing reproductive healthcare, often misdirecting them to crisis pregnancy centers that provide false and misleading medical information to delay them from having abortions using various shame tactics.
Through my work with NYC for Abortion Rights, I hope to destigmatize abortion and fight for reproductive justice through collective education, including information shares on self managed abortion and papaya workshops, as well as building community power, like our successful campaign that ended clinic harassment at the Brooklyn Planned Parenthood in 2021 by educating, empowering, and mobilizing neighbors to speak out against it.
